1. Please refer to REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO CROSS COUNTRY AUTO RACING – PART II: CLASSIFICATION AND VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS

1.1  Please refer to SSR Part II art 8.5 Yellow Lights. There have been complaints about non-visible yellow lights in the dust on some race cars. Therefore, the specification has been revised as below. These lights are currently fitted on some cars and are visible in the dust as well as proven robust. Should there be a complaint about a race car not being visible, such car will be put
alongside a car with the specified light fitted and visually and light meter judged. The decision of the Technical Delegate will be final.

8.5  Yellow lights: For safety reasons yellow lights are required to be fitted at the rear of all vehicles and be operational for the duration of the event. This provides more visibility in dust during close racing. These yellow lights should have a light intensity of 55 watt (550 Lumen) minimum. The lights must be activated by the main battery isolator switch only, and have no other auxiliary isolator switch. The lights must be fitted within 500mm of the vertical centreline of the vehicle and within 300mm of the highest point of the vehicle. The lights must be placed so that it can be seen from ground level 15 metres from the rear of the vehicle. LED lamps conforming to the lighting specifications are approved for use in Cross Country Racing applications.
The following lights define the minimum specification for rear mounted yellow lights in SA Cross Country Racing:
