Following the decision to move the Vryburg 400 to early September, then rescinding the decision due to the clash of dates with the Kalahari Rally, we have subsequently decided, in view of the ongoing and fluid situation surrounding the COVID pandemic and the rapidly evolving state of unrest which affected major parts of our country recently, to reschedule the Vryburg 400 and the Parys 400.

We have consulted with MSA, venue owners, landowners and stakeholders and based on this feedback we have amended the remaining three events and four rounds of the championship.

The date for the 4×4 Mega World 400 at Nampo Park remains unchanged on 1 and 2 October, this will be followed by the Vryburg 400 and will now take place on the weekend of 29 and 30 October from the Vryburg Motor Club, with the final round of the championship, the Parys 400 taking place on 20 November from the Parys Airfield.

To accommodate the date changes we have also changed the event formats for the 4×4 Mega World 400 and the Vryburg 400.  This is based on the number of events taking place in the Vryburg area between early September and the end of November, without infringing on other events.

In 2020 we enjoyed incredible support and enthusiasm from the land and property owners for the Total Agri 400, voted Best Event of the Year, with farmers offering even more support and diversification for the 2021 event.  Following a discussion with the Farmers Association we have been given the assurance that round four and five at Nampo Park will be two independent routes.

The Vryburg 400 will therefore be run as a standard event with a 40 to 50 kilometre Pirelli Qualifying race on Friday, 29 October and two loops of approximately 170 kilometres each on Saturday, 30 October.

The Parys 400 will remain as a one day event comprising a short Pirelli Qualifying race on Saturday morning, immediately followed by two loops of approximately 175 kilometres each on the same day.

The wellbeing of our championship is of utmost importance to all of us and providing the best possible platform to maintain our high standards and ensure the longevity of our series, is paramount to our future success.

We are living in fiercely unpredictable times and it is our duty to be proactive and act responsibly at all time.

Kind regards

Archie Rutherford.
