Following the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa last night, that KZN has been declared a national state of disaster after the recent floods which caused massive devastation, and our communique with the Beaumont Eston Farmers’ Association and landowners in the area, the decision has been made to postpone the event.

The feedback received has confirmed that many areas of the proposed route are impassable and that the current conditions do not allow for alternative routes to be identified.

Furthermore, it appears from long-term weather forecasts that the weather conditions are not favourable, with more wet weather predicted in the next two weeks.

We obviously are disappointed, however, as you will appreciate this is a situation outside of our control and in the best interest of our sport to act responsibly and respect the difficult circumstances faced by the landowners.

We will make an announcement in the next 10 days regarding amendments to the 2022 race calendar.
